Reinstall the shingles
Shingles are restored, replaced or hand-sealed so the repair integrates with the existing roof surface.

A failed flashing should usually be replaced. Sealant can be temporary, but replacement lets the flashing, waterproofing, fasteners and shingles be corrected together.
Can you reuse the surrounding shingles?
Sometimes, but brittle or damaged shingles around the flashing should be replaced so the repair can be tied back in cleanly.
Why caulk shingle ends near flashing?
Shingle seal strips bond to asphalt shingles, not metal, lead, rubber or plastic. Exposed butt ends need a deliberate seal.
Do you install metal goosenecks?
